Hi there, I’m Alexis....a storyteller at heart
I believe photography exists for the moments we never want to lose. Not the perfectly arranged ones, but the honest, fleeting pieces of life that shape our memories. A quiet look across a room. Laughter that arrives naturally and stays longer than expected. The feeling of being exactly where you belong.
I did not grow up with many photographs of my own family. There are stories I carry with me, but few images to return to. That absence became my why. It taught me how powerful it is to have something tangible that says this mattered, this love was real, this season existed.
I was gifted a photograph recently, one of my grandparents holding me, and I cried when I saw it. Not because it is perfect, but because it exists. An ordinary moment, preserved. Proof that we were there together. Holding it felt like being handed back a piece of my own history and a reminder of how much a single photograph can carry long after the moment itself has passed.
Now, I photograph the moments I once wished I had. The in between glances, the unguarded joy, the small details that grow more meaningful with time.
Based in Muskoka, I photograph weddings, families, and new beginnings throughout Huntsville, Algonquin Park, Parry Sound, and beyond. My approach is gentle and observant, rooted in connection rather than performance. I give space for stories to unfold naturally, preserving them with care and intention.
Becoming a mother deepened everything. It showed me how quickly ordinary days pass and how meaningful it is to hold onto them. The photographs I treasure most are not perfect. They are honest. They feel familiar. They feel like home.
If you are drawn to photography that values presence over perfection, meaning over trends, and storytelling above all else, I would be honoured to tell your story in a way that lasts.
Now that you know a little about me, I truly can’t wait to get to know you.
I believe the best connections start with stories—so here are a few of mine:
I grew up in the city (Hamilton born and raised), but these days you’ll find me living a slower, sweeter kind of life with my family in Muskoka. Trading pavement for pine trees was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Somewhere along the way, I scratched a ticket and won $10,000 (yep—those stories do happen in real life), and I’ve been chasing good luck and good light ever since.
My playlist? It’s full of early 2000s country—the kind that hits you right in the feels and brings back memories you didn’t know you still carried. I’m a self-declared wannabe extrovert, always torn between dancing in a crowd and hiding under a cozy blanket. And if you hear a little Southern twang? That’s Arkansas talking—I spent four unforgettable years there, and a bit of it stuck with me.
The little things that make me happy....
The rhythm of my life is stitched together with simple joys: the scent of fresh espresso in the morning (I’ll always go out of my way for a latte from Climb Muskoka), quiet moments before the world wakes up, and the grounding peace that comes from being outside. Give me a winding trail, a misty lake, a bike ride through the pines, or a challenging climb, and I’ll find my balance again. I’ve always believed that movement is medicine and nature is home.
The kitchen is where I pour my heart—into new recipes, messy counters, and meals shared with people I love. Good food has a way of gathering us, of holding space for laughter and connection. This past winter, our family laced up our skis and tumbled into a new adventure together—equal parts chaos and joy. And at the heart of it all is my son. He’s 11 now—kind, clever, and endlessly curious. He keeps me on my toes, makes me laugh when I need it most, and reminds me to stay present.
Motherhood has been the most beautiful, humbling story I’ve ever stepped into. I’m learning as I go, winging it more often than not—but I wouldn’t change a single page.
